Find your footing

At the conference

Start by getting oriented, then give yourself permission to explore. AMCIS offers formal sessions and many informal ways to learn and participate.

Arriving early?

Pre-conference workshops, the Doctoral Consortium and advance registration begin Tuesday, July 27. Check the program before making travel plans.

  • Pick up your badge and materials. Review registration hours and location before heading to the conference.
  • Plan each day. Note room locations and allow time to move between sessions and activities.
  • Attend the Welcome Reception. It is an easy place to meet other attendees and begin making connections.
  • Visit Member Connect and the exhibits. Learn more about AIS communities, resources and organizations serving the field.
  • Ask for help. AIS staff, volunteers and conference leaders are available to assist.

Be part of the community

Make connections that last

AMCIS is intentionally collaborative. You do not need an established network to participate—one introduction can be the beginning of a new research partnership, mentorship or friendship.

Start with your interests

Ask someone what brought them to a session, share what you are studying and look for areas of common curiosity.

Use dedicated programs

Explore Career Connect, the Doctoral Student Corner, consortia and AIS Member Connect for focused opportunities to meet others.

Continue the conversation

Connect after AMCIS with a brief note that recalls your discussion and suggests a useful next step.
